Every year The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and the Geoffrey Beene Foundation identify the most exemplary and innovative womenswear design student investigating experimentation of process, material, and form to advance the art form of fashion. The Geoffrey Beene Design Masters Scholars Award provides $25,000 to be applied to tuition to defray costs of final year thesis and educational expenses for one full-time graduate student from an American college or university. The 2014 award was won by first year Drexel graduate student Yi Deng ‘15  for three-dimensional innovation, technology, and materiality in fashion design.
